Technical Certifications/Authorizations Note-8/2008:

• My official Novell certs are in NetWare, ZEN and
  GW. I have been working on Linux since the early 90s, Slackware 1.0 days when I was with the school system in Madison Florida. This year I have tech edited several Linux books for Pearson and Wiley including the OpenSUSE 11.0 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Bible and the Linux All-in-One Desk Reference and am currently Tech Editing an Ubuntu book.
• I was also the TE for the CLP Study Guide by Novell Press that Emmett Dulaney did. Admittedly I don't hold the CLP etc. now, because the market where I am at offered no ROI. But I will gladly get these certs and authorizations in order to present Novell Linux solutions.
• This includes the new Novell certs the CLDA, CLA, CLE, and NCE.
• I have presented Novell's Linux+ class several times at FSU and it was well received. I have also presented several other Linux classes, where I made it a point to highlight SuSE benefits over the competitions.
• I simply need to identify a concrete need that generates income for me to justify taking the exams toward these certifications. It would take approximately 1 month lead time to earn most of the certifications and their associated authorizations.
• I have not authorized in the Microsoft 2003 classes, because of the same reasons, little or no ROI.
